In the NOVEMBER NEWSLETTER we will discuss a question asked at a recent client meeting. What are KNOX connections. Knox is a private company that offers a Fire Department Connection Protection Program. After a Fire Department register with Knox for the program, the Department is supplied with Knox Keywrenches which open the caps that are put on the fire department connections. The approved caps are then purchased by the property owner and installed by them on the connections.

This system keeps the lines clear of foreign matter that can cause the system to malfunction and the threads of the connection undamaged because only authorized individuals can remove the cap. The locking caps are made of stainless steel and are available in standard Fire Department (NST) configurations and are authorized by the latest International Fire and Building Codes.
